Message from the Developers

Hi friends,

We want to sincerely thank you for your interest in FAFO. We wanted to take this space to talk a little bit about HotSpotter. There are things that make us REALLY excited about HotSpotter, and there are areas where it needs improvement. There are things that HotSpotter does well, such as:

• Identifying areas that may not be immediately apparent such as small ledges, off shore humps, and points.
• Pinpointing oyster habitat and Seagrass habitat that is absent from traditional chart plotters and fishing charts.
• Taking into account season shifts in fish behavior and baitfish migrations
• And more...

That being said...there are areas where significant improvements can be made. Rest assured, we are in the process of making those improvements. But we felt it was valuable to you as an angler in its current state. You may notice some "noise" in the model output. This may be represented as points that appear on land in the model, among others. We are working diligently to retrain and retune our model to make it more effective and help it put you on more fish. Expect regular updates to HotSpotter. Thanks in advance for your patience, and in the mean time...see you out there.
